Have Some Tomatoes

Tomatoes are often used in every dish. It is very rich in Vit A, Vit C, potassium and are low in calories. Big or small, red or green, fresh or ripe, tomatoes can be enjoyed in several ways.

  • Have a fresh tomato out of hand for a snack.
  • Use diced tomatoes to add color and taste to dips and salsas.
  • Marinate fresh tomato slices and red onion rings in italian salad dressing. It's refreshing alternative to tossed green salad.
  • Add chopped tomatoes to to stir-fry combinations to lend color and flavor. For best result, add in the tomatoes last.
  • Add chopped fresh tomatoes to prepared spaghetti sauce, canned soup, stews or casserole.
  • Slice big tomatoes horizontally into 4 slices of equal thickness. Spread mayo or cheese in between slices, with the plain slice on top. Secure the tomato with a toothpick.
  • Stuff whole tomato cups with your favorite meat or seafood salad.
  • Cut off the inside meaty part of green tomatoes and leave the skin on. Cut the tomato into bite sized pieces and saute in extra virgin olive oil with bite sized onion. Cook over low medium heat until the tomatoes begin to brown.
